Online jewellery vendor Gemporia is extending its online presence with the launch of an iPhone app. The new app comes at a busy time for the company following the launch of its new international website in July, and is a natural progression for Gemporia as it bids to become the biggest online jewellery retailer in the UK.
Key to Gemporia creating the app was the desire to enable customers to watch any of Gemporia’s three television channels, Gems (TV), Rocks (TV), and their exclusive online only channel, The Lounge on the go. As well as this, the new app works well as a companion to TV when watching from home and allows customers to log in, browse, bid and buy from their iPhones, without interrupting viewing experience. Customers can also message the television studios live and interact with presenters in real time and with ease.
John Bennett, eCommerce Director at Gemporia explains: “We’re looking to converge the comfort of watching from the sofa with the rich experience of online. The app allows our customers to view our channels and interact with us however and whenever they want. In companion mode the app provides second-screen information to accompany the live TV presentation and easily interact with us and purchase. Or the app can be used standalone to view any of our UK or international live broadcasts, with all prices displayed in local currency.”
Although currently only available for iPhone users, an Android app will be available later this month. Android users can currently access Gemporia’s website from their phones as the website is fully responsive and tablet and mobile friendly.
