With the distinction between wholesalers, e-commerce and brick-and-mortar retailers narrowing by the day, there has been inevitable supply chain disruption, according to TradeGecko, the online inventory and order management company.
The software developer has surveyed 200 businesses in 28 different countries, and has summarised its findings in an infographic called ‘the wholesaler 2.0: disruption of the supply chain’, which you can find below.

Some of the headline findings include:
- 31% of respondents stated that online marketplaces were their top channel of revenue from new customers in 2014
- 41% of wholesalers will focus on ecommerce and online marketplaces in 2015
- 24% of wholesalers are adopting a hybrid business model in 2015 for the first time
- 46% of respondents indicated an interest in adopting b2b marketplaces to increase revenue
