UK-based online marketplace Luxecycled, which is pioneering the way for more sustainable fashion, homeware, jewellery, accessories, furniture and other seasonal goods has opened, digitally at least, to the public.

The marketplace, which promotes British-made products produced ethically and exclusively from recycled materials, is the brainwave of a partnership based in South West London that has specialised in both product design and organic retail since the 1990s. Their experience and keen attention to detail in retailing hand-crafted style has resulted in a curated range of high quality re-purposed goods by skilled British designers and craftspeople.

All of the products for sale on the Luxecycled website are made from reclaimed or re-purposed items, or else from materials recycled from another substance. One of the defining factors of Luxecycled and its premise is that a minimum of 75% of each product advertised must be made from recycled/reused materials. As traction grows for the company, however, they aim to raise this to 95-100% in order to truly capitalise on Luxecyled’s purpose.

In the coming months, Luxecycled is aiming to promote its message and marketplace online and across social media such as Instagram (@luxecycled). The creators of Luxecycled are confident that the British public will fall in love with upcycled and recycled products in their truest form, and that more designers and makers will be encouraged to follow their lead.

Following the launch of the website and social media, a company spokesperson for said: “We’re really excited to be bringing Luxecycled to the British public. It’s a ‘rags to riches’ story, making gifts and products out of the unwanted items and remnants that would ordinarily be discarded. A firm part of our ethos is for buying more of what you love, with less of the environmental impact, and that’s exactly the positive message Luxecycled is channelling.”
