Schuh has partnered with Hirestreet to allow customers to hire a full look for the first time via the rental platform.
In an industry first, Hirestreet will now offer a range of shoes from the retailer, including high heels and wedges, alongside its occasionwear offerings from brands including Asos, Marks and Spencer, Oasis, Nobody’s Child and Warehouse.
Prices start at £5 for five days and £10 for 10 days.

“At Hirestreet, we are always looking for ways to expand our offering to meet our customers’ needs. As our audience becomes more comfortable with rental, they are looking at how they utilise its power beyond just their dress or core item and create a complete rental look”, Hirestreet CEO Isabella West said.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Schuh on our first shoe collection; giving our renters the opportunity to access complimentary footwear to their outfit at amazing value.”
The move comes as the 2023 RXUK UK Fashion Sector reported growth in rented fashion, especially at the high end, with more companies turning the scheme into a subscription service.
The report uses companies such as Cocoon as an example, claiming it is “going great guns allowing subscribers to rent out designer bags”, with other rental schemes for clothing, including kids fashion, also slowly gaining interest from consumers looking for a more affordable and sustainable way to engage with fashion.
The report added that UK online fashion consumers are among the keenest to shop sustainably and ethically.
Some 86% of UK fashion consumers want their clothes to be made ethically and 72% of them sustainably, with as many as 53% of them willing to pay more to see this happen.
