In today’s InternetRetailing newsletter, there’s a focus on online security. This comes as the BRC Retail Crime Survey shows that fraud is set to be the biggest retail threat in coming years, while, in other news, shoe retailer Office has been warned about its security by the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Today we’re also focusing on IRX 2015, now just over two months away. We’re excited about the wide range of speakers, from retailers including (to name a small fraction) John Lewis, ao.com, Shop Direct and Sainsburys, the focus on the crossover between online and offline through features such as a Digital High Street, and an international dimension that will include exhibitors from around the world, including pavilions featuring Indian and Chinese technology and expertise.
Elsewhere in today’s newsletter, we report on falling sales at Thorntons, despite its online growth, and on investment from the William Currie Group for Big Dude Clothing. Today’s 2015 Trends piece focuses on fulfillment.
Our webinars
Our first webinar of 2015 comes from dotmailer, whose group account director Lili Boev will explore why potential shoppers abandon shopping carts – an average 68% of all online retail shopping carts are left before a purchase is completed – and how to craft strategies to make the most of those abandoned carts and convert lost browsing sessions. The free webinar, A sense of abandonment?, takes place at 2pm on January 27. To find our more and register, visit the dotmailer webinar page.
