Quick delivery platform Snappy Shopper has launched in Jersey in partnership with Alliance Retail, bringing online ordering and rapid delivery to a local Iceland Foods store.
The move enables customers across the island to access grocery and everyday essentials from Iceland with fast delivery and a wide choice of slots. Early results point to strong demand, with average order values reaching £72. Typical UK convenience store baskets are often under £10, while broader top-up grocery missions tend to fall in the £15–£20 range — putting Snappy Shopper’s £72 average order value well above standard convenience benchmarks.
Integration with EdgePoS
The service is supported by Snappy Shopper’s integration with EdgePoS, which provides real-time pricing, live stock visibility and promotions direct from store systems. This is designed to keep online and in-store offers aligned while maintaining accurate product information for shoppers.
The launch marks Snappy Shopper’s expansion beyond the UK mainland and tests the scalability of its model in a new market.
“An exciting milestone”
While the high basket value likely reflects a combination of higher local prices, limited retail choice, and shoppers using delivery for larger, planned shops rather than small top-up missions — a pattern typical of island markets – it is nonetheless a strong start for the partnership. Greg Deacon, VP at Snappy Shopper, described the launch as “an exciting milestone” and pointed to the high average order value as “a strong indicator of both customer demand and the strength of the model in this market.”
Ross Falla, finance director at Alliance Retail, added: “This partnership is an important part of our continued expansion plans, both digitally and through future retail growth across the islands. We see significant potential to broaden the range available to customers over time and continue improving accessibility and convenience for the communities we serve.”
