Builders' merchant Travis Perkins today said a retail transformation programme at its DIY subsidiary Wickes , which includes a new website and click and collect capability, was winning approval from customers.

Travis Perkins today reported sales of £5.58bn in the year to December 31 2014, 8.4% up on the previous year, and adjusted pre-tax profits of £362.3m, 12.8% ahead of the previous year. Consumer revenue of £1.28bn, was 8.8% up on the same time last year. Adjusted operating profits of £77m from the consumer section of the business, primarily Wickes, were 22.7% ahead of last time.

Travis Perkins said in its end-of-year statement, "Although early in the transformation programme for Wickes, customer feedback to the changes implemented so far has been positive. Improvements to value, branded ranges, promotions, customer service and the introduction of a new website and click and collect capability demonstrate the extent of the work underway."

It said more online improvements and investments were planned for 2015, while the store opening programme would also accelerate.

Travis Perkins said multichannel was also a priority for the B2B side of the business at Travis Perkins and subsidiaries including Toolstation.
