Viral campaign sparkles for jewellery etailer

A viral game produced by digital marketing agency Tamba for online jewellery retailer Coloured Rocks, which specialises in selling high quality gemstones, has already been played 132,000 times since it was launched earlier this month.

Diamond Detonation is a classic maze game whose objective is to work around passages of a jewel mine, avoiding miners and their dynamite charges. The player collects jewels to unlock the next level and can then enter their score on to a leaderboard. On average, players are spending four minutes on the game, which has the goal of both increasing brand awareness and encouraging potential customers to the etailer’s website.

“Coloured Rocks is an online-only company and successful viral games have the potential to generate huge amounts of interest,” says Steve Bennett, the firm’s MD. “We have a high customer retention rate, so attracting new customers is always a top priority. Viral games are the ideal solution — we feel Diamond Detonation reflects the accessibility and usability of our website.”
