Waitrose and John Lewis, the two trading divisions of the John Lewis Partnership, have entered into a commercial arrangement to work together more closely in the future, with the first fruits of this closer collaboration appearing online today in the form of a new Waitrose Homeshop available at Waitrose.com.
Waitrose Homeshop now stocks thousands of John Lewis and Waitrose kitchen and homeware products and customers can opt to either ‘click and collect’ from their local Waitrose branch or have them delivered to their home.
In the future, there are also plans to incorporate the same John Lewis products in new, extended Waitrose branches.
“This is a hugely exciting venture,” says Mark Price, managing director at Waitrose. “Working in collaboration with John Lewis and having their products as part of our range will strengthen Waitrose’s presence on the high street even more and will give us a real opportunity to rival our four main competitors with an exceptional non-food offer which will be unmatched.”
And Andy Street, md at John Lewis, adds: “With the reciprocal arrangements between the two brands now in place I relish the prospect of teams from both divisions of the John Lewis Partnership working together to provide shoppers with enhanced access to the excellent products on offer from both Waitrose and John Lewis.”
