High street retailer WHSmith has extended its online payment services contract for a further three years.

Paypoint.net will continue to process payments for WHSmith’s online store, www.whsmith.co.uk. The company was first appointed just before Christmas 2007, when WHSmith’s online store relaunched.

WHSmith operations manager Mark Stephenson said: “Brand reputation is a key factor for WHSmith, which is why we needed a reliable payment solution to help us expand our offering from an established high street business to a fully functioning ecommerce store.” He added: “It was an easy decision to extend our contract.”

Michael Norton, managing director of PayPoint.net said: “We’ve worked closely with WHSmith to understand their business needs and provide a bespoke solution capable of adapting to industry developments and changing regulations.

“We look forward to building on our partnership over the next three years.”
