International shipping specialist wnDirect has launched new delivery services to the Middle East, in response to the fast growth of ecommerce in the region.

The company now offers four-day delivery to Oman, Libya, Lebanon, Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Egypt.

The launch of the new services comes as research suggests that the Middle East is the fastest growing ecommerce market in the world: sales grew by 45% in 2012, according to Visa/IMRG http://www.visamiddleeast.com/ae/en-ae/aboutvisa/research/ecommerce.shtml figures, while B2C sales in the region are expected to hit $15bn by 2015. But as yet, says Google, only 15% of Middle East businesses are online.

“The Middle East is an incredibly exciting region in terms of eCommerce growth and opportunity hence the reason we have invested a great deal of time and effort into developing lanes for the region,” said wnDirect managing director Stuart Hill. “We recognise that both UK and US retailers are going to be keen to take advantage of the opportunities there and we wanted to make sure we came to market with a robust and comprehensive offering.”

The new delivery services include customer service support and order tracking.
