Bensons for Beds is working to improve its dropship capabilities and provide a richer shopping experience for its customers by expanding its online product range, as it partners with Virtualstock.
At a time when the British bedding and mattress retailer has seen its customer preference increasingly turning towards internet shopping, it is offering more ecommerce choice to new and existing customers.
Last year, Bensons for Beds, which has 170+ stores across the UK, reported a 32% increase in digital sales driven by the “continued investment in omnichannel capability and leadership”.
The retailer has now selected the Virtualstock platform to help streamline its operations; buying stock at the exact moment customers purchase it, reducing surplus stock and warehouse space.
Gavin Chappell, chief operating officer at Bensons for Beds, said: “Understanding the evolving needs of our shoppers is key to us continuing to grow our online sales and profitability, whilst also ensuring a better buying experience for our customers. We are confident that our partnership with Virtualstock will empower us to increase profitability by reducing operational costs through real-time supply chain visibility.

In 2022, Bensons for Beds bought the Eve Sleep mattress brand from administrators quickly launching the brand on its website. The retailer hoped this acquisition would also help widen Bensons appeal to a broader set of customers. The bed and mattress retailer posted 7% like-for-like sales growth for the year ending 30 September 2023.
