Department store Debenhams will now allow customers to pick up and return parcels at local shops through a new tie-up with Hermes.
The Hermes ParcelShop option will be available on the site alongside normal home delivery. This gives customers access to 4500 locations across the UK, located in convenience stores.
Customers pay £1.99 for delivery within five working days, or £3.99 for next-day delivery.
Debenhams said it has also begun using in-store picking in more than 60 stores to improve online product availability.
Steven Cook, Debenhams MD, said: “We have thought hard about what will make shopping easier and more convenient for our customers at this busy time of year. While they may not be able to pick up orders in our stores for the time being, this gives them the opportunity to collect their Debenhams order as part of an essential shopping trip.
“We are expecting a surge in online orders as customers are shopping early for Christmas, knowing they may not be able to visit their loved ones over the festive period.”
