Ebay has launched a new dedicated ‘Ebay x Notting Hill Carnival hub’, following a surge in sneaker searches in the run-up Notting Hill Carnival (27-28 August 2023).
According to the online marketplace, it has seen a 365% spike in searches and as a result has created a hub curated by carnival experts, sharing their insider tips on the best authenticity-guaranteed sneakers for comfort, colour and style to wear over the Bank Holiday weekend.
“From the music to the fashion and the food, Notting Hill Carnival has authenticity at its heart, and what better way for Ebay to celebrate sneaker culture past and present, than to help carnival-loving sneakerheads find the brightest, comfiest and most stylish kicks to stand out when they are on the road,” Ebay head of sneakers Wahaaj Shabbir said.

One of the aforementioned experts, Nicole Fox, added: “Carnival is the essence of authenticity – it’s emancipation, it’s freedom and it’s about self-expression.”
“When it comes to picking kicks for carnival the most important thing is how I can be an individual.”
The news comes as Ebay recently completed the acquisition of AI-powered apparel and fashion goods authentication provider, Certilogo, for an undisclosed sum.
Certilogo uses digital technology to empower brands and designers to manage the lifecycle of their garments while enabling customers to confirm authenticity and access reliable product information.
Ebay UK’s vice president and general manager Eve Williams has been confirmed as a speaker at ChannelX World 2023.
