Homebase has revamped its smartphone and tablet apps to support “its intent to create a more inspirational and digital experience for its customers” on the back of seeing more than 50% of its web traffic coming from mobile.

The app, which will run on multiple devices including iOS 7 and Android, offers an array of features including the ability to browse and refine its entire product collection, check stock and reserve to stores nationwide and even allow its customers to find their nearest Homebase store using GPS.

Taking advantage of the huge growth in mobile and tablet ownership, Homebase now sees more 50% of its traffic coming through these devices. And the app has seen immediate success with over 70,000 downloads across multiple devices helping the app to become one of the app stores most popular lifestyle applications.

Siobhan Fitzpatrick, Director of Multichannel at Homebase, explains: “We’re really excited and proud to be launching the Homebase app which aims to make shopping with us via touch-devices a great experience and planning and creating an inspirational home easy.

“With the demand for online shopping increasing, we’re listening to our customers and giving them an app that’s as easy and convenient to use as possible. This is just the beginning of a number of new developments and additional features for our digital channels which we will be bringing to our customers in the coming months.”
