In today’s Internet Retailing newsletter we report on a new study that lays bare the extent of showrooming in our stores. The study from the Omnico Group justifies retailers worst fears, showing that one in 10 shoppers have bought online from one retailer while standing in another retailer’s stores.
But, it argues, this behaviour should not be seen as undermining retailers’ stores. Rather, it’s simply a logical attempt by shoppers to join up the often-lacking omnichannel experience, finding out for themselves the information that they can’t see in store.
