IRX 2017 The Going Global Conference

Ahead of InternetRetailing Expo (IRX 2017) and sister event eDelivery Expo (EDX 2017) we’re running a series of previews and interviews looking ahead to the event. Today the focus is on the Going Global Conference.

Organisations as varied as mytheresa, Specsavers and the Department for International Trade will share their insights into digital overseas expansion with visitors to the Going Global Conference at IRX 2017.

Speakers will be sharing their experiences and insights into selling into new markets during the conference, which takes place on [April 5?], part of IRX 2017 at the Birmingham NEC.

The conference follows an opening plenary address from Alan Wizemann, vice president, digital product and guest experience at Lululemon. His presentation, Digital to drive global growth and customer satisfaction, is at 9.30am.

Michael Kliger, president of mytheresa.com, gives the opening keynote address in the conference. Going global with luxury fashion etail is at 10.30am.

Steven Hope, senior ecommerce adviser and China specialist, marketing communications at the Department for International Trade then considers some practical approaches to the Chinese market. Ecommerce in China – how can UK retailers succeed in an increasingly competitive market? is at 11.05am.

David Jimenez, chief revenue officer at stream sponsor Ingenico ePayments, is the speaker for a session on cross-border payments strategies. He’ll consider where the opportunities lie, and what the right payment options are to offer shoppers in different parts of the world as they buy on devices from desktop to mobile. Four corners of global payments: crossing the chasm across borders is at 11.40am.

The challenges and rewards of international growth and strategies for dealing with them are the subject in first session after lunch. Developing a blueprint to benchmark your international strategy and win success in global markets is at 2pm.

That’s followed by a panel discussion considering different business models and opportunities for expansion overseas. Key success factors driving international expansion is at 3pm.

Phil Pavitt, global CIO of Specsavers, is the closing keynote speaker in this conference. He’ll be sharing his experiences and strategies in leading the digital transformation at Specsavers. Transforming your IT to meet the demands of a global company is at 3.35pm.
