OnBuy founder and CEO Cas Paton has joined the 2023 ChannelX World lineup.
Taking place on 11 October 2023 in London, the one-day event will explore the ever-evolving ecommerce channel landscape and will provide delegates with real-world case studies and success stories of brands, retailers and marketplaces that have achieved results.
Paton joins the likes of H&M‘s global head of external partners, Kimmo Jukuri, Wayfair‘s head of global transformation, Stephanie Gordon and John Lewis‘ business lead Jemma Haley.

Other speakers include Luxe Collective CEO Ben Gallagher, Ebay VP & GM, Eve Williams, Sephora’s head of marketplace Ting-Ting Lee and Andrew Steel, Charles Bentley’s ecommerce director, amongst others, including executives from Alibaba, Karl Lagerfeld, The Very Group and The EditLDN.
Recently, the online marketplace hit the headlines after it made a last-minute bid for collapsed retailer Wilko.
In a social media post, Paton said: “OnBuy made a last-minute bid on Wilko to try and keep the household brand part of English history for time to come – We’re waiting on news. Fingers crossed.”
The move comes as Paton recently told InternetRetailing that this year is “about scaling up” and “proving that OnBuy is still capable of delivering what retailers want in a post-Covid world”.
However, OnBuy didn’t meet the requirements of the administrators.
“Our plan when bidding on Wilko was to launch a marketplace under the brand, as an additional benefit to our sellers,” he revealed.
Earlier this year, Paton sat down with InternetRetailing to discuss putting the retailers at the forefront of the company, competing with the likes of Amazon and Ebay and future growth plans, as the company holds the title of “Europe’s fastest growing ecommerce business”.
