RetailX Europe Top1000: Amazon & Argos named Elite retailers

Find out which other retailers have been ranked as Elite retailer in the 2023 RetailX Europe Top1000 report.

Amazon and Argos have been named among the five retailers ranked as Elite companies in the 2023 RetailX Europe Top1000 report.

The ecommerce giant returned to the list once more after being listed each year since 2020, previously in the Leading category, however, Argos climbed up from a Top50 retailer in the 2022 Europe Top1000 report.

The omnichannel retailer has previously been ranked Elite in the UK Top500 but this is its first appearance in the Europe Top1000.

The ranking has been attributed to the group now being part of Sainsbury’s, which has also been ranked as a Leading Retailer, offering a convenient multichannel service available across a range of locations.

It has also made Argos one of the most visited websites in its market, the report states.

The report features seven company profiles illustrating how the top retailers and brands are leading the way, including brands such as Albert Heijn, H&M and River Island. It also features an interview with Ikea who is among the brands thinking again about how the homeware retailer sells as customers change their shopping habits once more.

“Our eighth annual report comes at a time when leading retailers are addressing shoppers cutting back on spending in the light of rising energy and grocery bills,” RetailX CEO Ian Jindal said.

“The leaders in this Top1000 report are doing so by innovating and improving the service that they offer.”
