The fourth annual Social Media Influence conference, held on 3 March in central London, saw more than 180 delegates and speakers come together to discuss a host of social media issues that are occupying the minds of retailers and other consumer businesses.
Titled ‘Social Media Comes of Age’, conference keynote speaker Matthew Yeomans asked the key question: What does it mean to be social when hundreds of major brands are looking at YouTube, Twitter (there’s that word again) and Facebook as a new channel for marketing?
“Speaking of Twitter, the conference made a certain microblogging platform’s second-most-popular-trend of the day (there’s a qualifier for you) while, in the world of traditional media, it warranted a feature in Business Week,” Matthew Yeomans told InternetRetailing.net.
