The cult flash sales website vente-privee.com, which generates more than 45% of its UK turnover through mobile, has introduced a new app, which includes a delivery GPS, a ‘sale notifications’ function and a direct connection to customer services.
With this new app, customers will now have access to all the event sales with vente-privee’s 2500 partner brands. A built-in GPS navigation system means that customers will now have access to seeing their nearest collection points depending on where they would like their purchase to be delivered.
Customers will now have access to their profiles via the app, where they can create/delete brand alerts and or modify notifications. The app also has a button that makes direct contact with customer services, with the option of contact via phone or email.
As vente-privee’s flash sales open at 6am daily, the app comes equipped with a new ‘sale alert’ option. Customers can select the names of their favourite brands for which they wish to receive an alarm call when these particular sales appear on the site. A notification will be sent to the customer’s mobile when the sale opens, alerting them that one of their registered brands is now on the site.
vente-privee developed its first ever app in 2010, which has been downloaded more than 6million times. Keen to accelerate and develop its mobile shopping experience, the original vente-privee app has been dissolved, giving way to the brand new app, which can now be download from Google Play and the App store.
To alert customers to the changeover from the old app to the new one, customers were sent a mobile alert which showed an animated video of a sun becoming eclipsed by the moon. To bring back the sun on their phone/tablet screens, customers had to shake their mobile device from side to side to make the sun reappear, thus completing the disappearance of the old vente-privee app from their phone. They were then invited to access the new app.
