Evri (formerly Hermes UK), is to open a new distribution depot near Gatwick airport at Manor Royal, Crawley Business Quarter, Crawley.
The new site, which be operational later this year, is 81,671sq ft in size, almost double the size of the existing depot.
It will also double capacity with the ability to handle over 200,000 parcels a day, and to operate 24/7 if required.
The new depot includes EV charging as Evri now has 30% electric vehicle ParcelShop fleet. It also includes LED lighting on sensors throughout, rainwater harvesting, low carbon heating, solar panels and is built to BREEAM ‘Excellent’ certified specifications.
Steve Appleton, depot general manager, Evri, said: “We are all very excited here in Gatwick to be moving into our new home. It shows the faith the business has in Team Gatwick to deliver a world class service from this world class facility.”
