MusicMagpie rolls out B2B device rental scheme, signs Stagecoach as first customer

MusicMagpie is extending its vaunted smartphone and tablet tech rental scheme from the consumer world to the B2B market with the launch of a corporate device subscription scheme.

Initially renting out Apple iPhones and iPads, the service starts at £13 per month for a 24-month contract, after which devices can be upgraded or returned.

The company already boasts Stagecoach as its first customer, although the scheme builds on the retailer’s MusicMagpie Circular corporate recycling scheme that it runs with Deloitte and Zurich.

Matt Harrison, manager of MusicMagpie Circular, explains: “The economic environment facing consumers and businesses alike is increasingly tough and the issues of affordability and cash-flow constraints are being felt by many. Against this backdrop, our proposition of giving businesses a way to lower their upfront device investment costs through a monthly subscription, whilst also contributing to the circular economy, becomes increasingly attractive.

“With our consumer rental offering having grown to over 24,000 active subscribers at May 2022 and with Stagecoach already signed up as one of our first major corporate customers, we’re confident that it will prove to be a popular service for businesses who can now reap the rewards of renting too.”

MusicMagpie first rolled out its device rental offering in partnership with DivideBuy to consumers back in May 2021, which worked alongside its existing second-hand reconditioned device sales. The service has proved so popular that, working with new partner Utelize Mobile, the company is targeting the lucrative corporate market.
