Sales from mobile have jumper from 15.89% of e-commerce sales to 17% between Q1 and Q2 2015, according to the latest Affiliate Window benchmark of mobile traffic.

According to its stats, 34,886 sales came through a mobile device (smartphone and tablet) each day in Q2, with 16,089 of these were through a smartphone. That’s 670 sales generated through a smartphone each hour.

48% of traffic originated from mobile devices, up from 46.1% in Q1 2015 and converted at 3.6% from adverts to sales – slightly up on the 3.57% in Q1.

Despite all this growth, average order value on mobile fell from £65 to £64.65. Though this isn’t necessarily a bad thing: falling average order value signifies that people are more confident in buying all sorts of things on mobile and that merchants are increasingly making their sites mobile and transactional.
