Pets at Home has revealed that its click and collect offer, which now makes up around 10% of its omnichannel revenue, offers around an 80% saving on fulfilment and delivery costs versus online.
The service offers products in one hour and Pets At Home said that many customers are shopping instore on the same trip. The company has also extended its contactless collection offer to more than 360 stores, in addition to click and collect which is available across all stores.
Its delivery from store offer, which sees customers orders shipped from their local store to their homes, is now available from around 130 stores around 120 of which offer deliveries the same day or within two hours. Ship from store offers around a 20% saving versus core online for the group and currently makes up around 12% of omnichannel revenue.
The company’s core online offer, which has a 2-3 day delivery shipping from its distribution centre to customers’ homes makes up a 36% share of omnichannel revenue. The figures were revealed in the company’s latest results, issued this week.
Pets at Home’s said its new purpose built 670,000 sq ft storage and distribution facility in Stafford remains on-track and on budget to go live in summer 2023. The new, highly automated unit consolidates two legacy infrastructures to improve fulfilment capacity and inventory flexibility and should have the capacity to support more than ten years of revenue growth.
