Abercrombie & Fitch enables shoppers to spread their payments

Abercrombie & Fitch is introducing payments technology that will allow its customers to spread the cost of their purchases over a number of installments.

The clothing retailer is to enable UK customers at its Abercrombie & Fitch brand, ranked Top350 in IRUK Top500 research, as well as at Abercrombie Kids and at Hollister, to pay over three installments using Klarna’s Pay in 3 solution. Its US customers, meanwhile, will be able to pay over four installments, over the course of two months.

The move represents an expansion in the retailer’s use of Klarna solutions. It currently offers Klarna’s Pay Later service to customers in Germany. There, customer have up to 14 days to pay for their goods after their order has been delivered.

“Since our customers are the centre of all we do, we strive to offer options that meet their growing needs,” said Matt Weger, chief information officer at Abercrombie & Fitch. “We aim to provide engaging, seamless brand experiences from product discovery to checkout and fulfilment, and adding Klarna, which has already seen success with our customers in Germany, supports that goal.”

Michael Rouse, chief commercial officer at Klarna, said he was delighted to partner with Abercrombie & Fitch. “Our continued partnership is based on a shared vision that the future of retail consists of a high touch shopping and payment experience, which will not only drive engagement and reach but also build customer loyalty,” he said.
